A metacartel is an organization of cartels that cooperate with each other in order to increase their profits and market power. The term was first coined by economist Jay R. Jaffe in his book The Metacartel: The New Economic Era of Cooperation and Competition (2013). Metacartel Ventures is a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage companies. They are based in San Francisco, California and have a team of six partners.
